The U.S. Rig Count flirts with 50 year lows. As reported in the latest Locations & Operators Report, the U.S. Rig Count falls to 587, the U.S. Land Rig Count drops from 558 to 528.
The only other time the U.S. Land Rig Count has been this close to 500 was in the summer of 1999, where the count trended below 500 rigs for nearly 8 months. Other than that, the U.S. Rig Count has been over 500 for over a half a century.
