With only 399 active land rig locations in the U.S. Pioneer tops the list of operators with 19 active rigs. They are closely followed by Continiental with 17 active rigs. Continental has a higher avg for ptd and a total ptd of 227,186ft. 

Midland, TXRRC-8 still has the highest number of active wells with 21. Rounding out the top five is Weld, Colorado. The Niobrara shale region has 15 active rigs.
