Industry-watchers looking for the US land rig count’s trend to track with the falling price of oil received a little confirmation with the most recent sample data from Friday June 30, 2017. The US land rig count slipped by 13 rigs to a total of 916 actively drilling. Contrasting the recent weekly move down, the monthly US rig count continued its climb higher with 914 rigs drilling on average across the country, up 29 rigs versus May’s average.
