Crude oil and gasoline inventories grew last week, according to the U.S. Department of Energy.
Crude oil stocks rose by 3 million barrels, continuing a trend of increases in February, although the nation's crude oil stock of 423.5 million barrels remains below average for this time of year.
Gasoline inventories increased by 2.5 million barrels last week, keeping stockpiles above average.
Despite declines in distillates, propane, propylene and other fuel oils by more than 1 million barrels, the total commercial petroleum inventories increased by 3.7 million barrels last week.
